Summary
This data paper documents the SMARVUS dataset, an openly available resource from a large international multi-centre study of statistics and mathematics anxiety in university students. The dataset comprises self-report responses from 12,570 students at 100 universities across 35 countries, collected online in 21 languages via a cross-sectional questionnaire. Measured variables include statistics and mathematics anxieties (including modified versions), test anxiety, trait anxiety, fear of negative evaluation, social interaction and performance anxiety, intolerance of uncertainty, creativity anxiety, self-efficacy, persistence, analytical thinking, and belief in God. The data and accompanying metadata are archived on the Open Science Framework for reuse. The resource is intended to support secondary analyses and cross-cultural, psychometric, and individual-differences research on academic anxieties.
