We welcome inquiries from prospective students, research assistants, and collaborators. Here's how people typically get involved.
Ways to get involved
PhD & Masters students
Research higher-degree students working on psychometrics, dimensional personality models, or AI applications in psychological science. Primary supervision, co-supervision, and panel chairing are all available depending on fit.
Honours students
A one-year research project within one of the lab's four research streams, with hands-on training in psychometric methods.
Research assistants & volunteers
Support for ongoing projects — scale development, data collection, or the lab's open-source software tools.
Collaborators
Researchers, clinicians, or developers interested in a formal or informal collaboration on any of the lab's research streams or open-source projects.
What we look for
- A genuine interest in psychological measurement — precise, rigorous, and useful.
- Comfort with (or willingness to learn) quantitative methods: IRT, CFA, network analysis, or statistical programming.
- For AI-focused work: curiosity about large language models and a thoughtful, critical approach to what they can and can't do well.
- For clinically-oriented work: an interest in translating measurement science into real assessment and treatment practice.
