Mapping a Paradigm Shift in Contemporary Psychological Literature
Will graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours in Psychology from the Australian National University. In Precision Lab, his work explores technology and psychopathology, specifically how artificial intelligence can help us better understand and enhance mental health research. Will recently completed a project leveraging AI to map the proliferation of competing paradigms across a decade of peer-reviewed mental health research, including the first full-scale run of articLLMate on nearly 50,000 articles, examining the literature’s perspectives and operationalisation of dimensional and categorical frameworks.
Will is passionate about bridging the gap between academic research, clinical practice, and mental health policy and infrastructure. He strongly believes in the development of meaningful and accessible psychological resources for all. Will’s broader interests include exploring the role of new technologies to untangle and synthesise an increasingly vast and complex research space, turning that information into improved care and policy that more effectively addresses a growing global mental health burden.
Beyond the lab, he enjoys spending time outdoors, indulging in a wide manner of endeavours seemingly as an excuse to buy shiny new gear and equipment.
